Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard apologise to Patsy Palmer after she storms off of GMB

Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid apologised to Patsy Palmer after she stormed off halfway through an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

The presenting duo were visibly stunned when the former EastEnders star announced that she would be quitting the interview and swiftly logged off.

Patsy, 48, now lives in Malibu in the US and wasn't happy about the fact that GMB had captioned the segment "addict to wellness guru".

After storming off, dad-of-two Ben addressed the dramatic scenes live on air.

The Tipping Point host said: "I'm so sorry about that Patsy, huge apologies. It wasn't our intention to upset you."

And 50-year-old Susanna then added: "I had no idea that was on the screen.

"Well, that's a terrible shame. Our apologies to Patsy. She's entitled not to do the interview and we carry on."

Ben, 46, then stated: "Our intention was never to upset Patsy Palmer. "We were very keen to talk to her...

"She has talked in the past, in her book, particularly about her addiction, her stint in rehab... and now she has a wellness brand."

Patsy's refusal to speak comes just over a week after GMB host Piers Morgan stormed off the set during a conversation with Alex Beresford.

The 55-year-old announced later that day that he had quit his role on the ITV show.

Patsy even said she was "doing a Piers Morgan", as she quit her interview on Wednesday.

Ben and Susanna looked visibly shocked as Patsy logged off from the virtual chat on the ITV breakfast show (ITV)

"You know what, I don't even want to do this interview, because I don't even want to look what it says at the bottom of that screen," she told Ben and Susanna.

"So I am just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan, and say it's not okay to have 'addict to wellness guru' on the bottom of the screen."
