Susanna Reid accuses Piers Morgan of 'fake laughing' as Spitting Image puppet is unveiled

Susanna Reid suspected that her Good Morning Britain co-host wasn't quite as enamoured with his Spitting Image puppet as he was making out today.

Piers will be joining Boris Johnson and Donald Trump in being immortalised through the grotesque puppet in the new series on BritBox.

After teasing the unveiling of the puppet throughout GMB today, the time finally came for it to be revealed.

As a drum roll sounded, Piers said: "It's been the dream of my whole adult life to have Spitting Image do a puppet of me and then last night I got sent the image and I was like, 'I could have waited another 40 years for this.'"

As the digital curtain was pulled back, a puppet of Piers Morgan was unveiled with tiny, pouty lips and a double chin.

Piers laughed before trying to mimic the puppet's pout and grimacing.

"As you can see, it bares no resemblance to me," Piers insisted.

He tweeted: "The first time I can recall a spitting image puppet to be actually quite flattering, @piersmorgan."

Meanwhile fans were equally merciless, with one tweeting: "The mouth needs to be much bigger in my opinion far too small for what comes out of it all."

Another joked: "Definitely an improvement on the real thing..."
