Susan Graham has been described as America’s favourite mezzo. She’s sung at the President’s inauguration, won a Grammy, and had a day named after her in her home state of Texas. In concert with musicians from the Australian chamber orchestra, she appears as a vocal soloist in a french program of her favourites from La Belle Époque.
Graham is well-loved by the French. She was made a Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, one of France’s most prestigious awards. It is an honour she shares with Rudolph Nureyev, Philip Glass and Cate Blanchett, for her performance of French music.
