Survivors of Tanzania ferry disaster demand answers

Survivors of Tanzania ferry disaster demand answers

Passengers who swam for their lives to survive a ferry sinking in Tanzania two months ago say they are still traumatised, shocked and in pain.

At least 228 people drowned in Lake Victoria, just a few metres off the shore of the island of Ukara.

Most of them were women returning home from the market.

Two months on, survivors demand that the findings of the investigation into the ferry sinking be made public and for prison sentences for anyone found guilty of negligence.

Al Jazeera's Catherine Soi reports from Ukara, Tanzania.
