Survey: What do you think of the local lockdown rules in Leeds?

On September 25, the Government officially announced Leeds was to go into a local lockdown.

The new rules banned people in the city from mixing in private homes or gardens and it strongly advised against socialising in public.

At a press conference held by Leeds City Council ahead of the official announcement, local leaders said they hoped the people of Leeds would "get behind" the new measures.

The council's chief executive Tom Riordan said: "It looks like we are in the middle of the second wave so we do support these household restrictions being brought in at this stage and this is something that we really need the city to get behind."

But many people in Leeds expressed their anger and sadness at the new rules, as they shared their worry that it would effectively mean the "cancellation" of Christmas.

And the vagueness surrounding how long these rules will be in place for has not helped to put people's minds at ease, either.

Leeds' director of public health Victoria Eaton, said the rules will be in place for "as long as they are needed" and potentially right through the winter, up to March or April next year.

Many of you had a lot of questions about the new rules, but now is your chance to have your say on them - do you agree with them? Will you stick to them? Let us know by taking our survey below. If it doesn't load, you can also see it here.
