Survey: Tell us how you are feeling about the third national lockdown

The country has been plunged into a third national coronavirus lockdown.

Once again we are being told to 'stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives'.

The Prime Minister announced the news in a television address last night and said the new rules would come into effect immediately.

He said increased measures were necessary to bring the virus, particularly the new, highly contagious variant, under control.

Mr Johnson also said hospitals are 'under more pressure from Covid than at any time since the start of the pandemic'.

The lockdown - which is likely to last until at the middle of February - will be similar to those imposed in March and November last year.

It will see schools, hospitality venues and all non-essential shops closed and everyone will be told to stay at home except where there is a ‘reasonable excuse’.

But what do you think about the third national lockdown?

Do you agree with the return to a full lockdown? Do you back the closure of schools? Do you agree with fines for rule breakers?
