It’s often seen as a taboo subject, but a new survey has finally shed light on Brits’ sex lives.
The survey, by YouGov, asked 2,000 Brits how often they have sex every week, and the results might surprise you.
On average, 27% of respondents said they have sex in any given week, including 11% who do it once, 7% who get frisky twice, and 9% who have sex at least three times.
At the other end of the scale, about three in ten Brits said they were sexually inactive, while a similar proportion are having sex, but not every week.
Breaking down the results further, YouGov found that people in their late 20s are more likely to have regular sex than any other age group, with 43% of 25-29-year-olds having sex in a typical week.

Unfortunately, this starts to change by the late 30s, with 38% of 35-39-year-olds not having sex in the past week, despite claiming to be sexually active.
YouGov added: “If we look only at those who had sex in the past seven days when surveyed, other trends emerge.
“While the youngest Brits still top the league with 3.2 times on average in a week, once people reach their mid-20s, the differences start to shrink.
“People aged 25 to 29 who are having sex do so 2.3 times in a typical week, but 50- to 59-year-olds who are having sex are not far behind at 2.1 times.”
The survey comes shortly after a study in Pennsylvania found that weekly sex can actually help fend off illness.
In the study, researchers found that students who had sex once or twice a week had higher levels of an immunoglobulin A - an important illness-fighting substance!
