With Halloween approaching this Sunday, people around Manchester are preparing to celebrate the festival which was severely restricted last year.
Trick or treating was banned last year in Greater Manchester due to restrictions on household mixing, and Boris Johnson gave the whole country a scare on the day itself with a press conference announcing a new lockdown.
These restrictions are not currently in place this year, but there are concerns over the growing number of cases in the past month.

Despite this, it seems that there won’t be any last minute restrictions brought in after Health Secretary Sajid Javid told the BBC on Monday that he believes the UK will have a “normal Christmas.”
With trick or treating and other Halloween celebrations apparently ok to go ahead, Greater Manchester lead director for health protection and emergency planning, Kate Adern, advised parents : “Covid’s still here so please remember to think about how to protect yourself and your children.
“We all need to continue to take precautions to keep ourselves, our loved ones and our communities safe. That means continuing to practice good hygiene, limiting the number of people we come into contact with, and where possible meeting others outside.”
