Following Boris Johnson’s announcement last week, Manchester and the rest of the country will be subject to new ‘Plan B’ measures to help stop the spread of the Omicron variant.
MPs will vote on the legislation this week, with Labour expected to back the government despite rumours of a Tory rebellion over Covid passes.
Other restrictions include more guidance to work from home and the reintroduction of mandatory face masks in indoor public places.
