Surrey welcome back Liam Plunkett for Middlesex Vitality Blast clash

Resurgent Surrey welcome World Cup winner Liam Plunkett into their squad for the first time this season for Monday’s London derby against Middlesex at Lord’s.

After a dismal start to the season that saw them wait more than a month to win a game, Surrey have come out on top in their last four games across formats.

Vitality Blast victory over Essex on Saturday saw them move second in the South Group. Middlesex are two points behind them after beating Hampshire and also have their eye on qualification for the quarter-finals at the end of this month.

Fast bowler Plunkett has been a permanent fixture on a long Surrey injury list this season but returns to compete for a place in a strong seam attack that contains new signings Reece Topley and Jamie Overton.

Middlesex will again be without young all-rounder Luke Hollman, who injured his ankle in the warm-up for their victory over Hampshire.
