Surrey sign up D'Arcy Short and Shadab Khan for T20 Blast

Surrey have continued their recruitment for the 2020 season by signing Australia’s D'Arcy Short and Pakistan’s Shadab Khan for the Vitality Blast.

On Wednesday, Surrey announced the signing of Australian Michael Neser as their overseas player for the first half of the next Championship season, while the signings of Hashim Amla on a Kolpak deal and Reece Topley are expected next week.

Both batting all-rounder Short (Trent Rockets) and legspinner Khan (Southern Brave) will be involved in the inaugural season of the Hundred, but they will play for Surrey in the Blast beforehand.

Short, a star of the Big Bash with Hobart Hurricanes, had an outstanding Blast for Durham this year.

"I've been waiting for an opportunity to play county cricket for a long time and T20 at The Oval is a great place to start," Khan said.
