A whole range of strange symptoms have been reported since the coronavirus first broke out across the world.
Reports of symptoms have differed slightly with variants of concern, and one strange symptom to do with how much we eat has also been recorded by some Covid-19 patients.
The current dominant variant is the Omicron strain, which took over from Delta, and a significant number of people have been reporting milder 'cold-like' symptoms.
The NHS, however, continues to list a new, continuous cough, a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste and a high temperature as the main symptoms of the virus.
What is clear is that the virus does not affect everyone in the same way - and even the most common symptoms won't necessarily be felt by someone who has Covid.
So what else should we look out for?
Does Covid cause a loss of appetite?

It should be emphasised that not everyone who catches Covid will experience a loss of appetite, but it has been reported by plenty of people who have tested positive for Covid.
The ZOE Covid Study released an article in March 2021 - which has not updated since, when the Delta variant was still dominant - that a loss of appetite and skipping meals had been found in people with Covid.
It claimed: "One in three people infected with Covid-19 lose their appetites enough to skip meals. It’s most common in people over 65 where roughly four in ten people (43%) experience a loss in appetite at some point during their illness."
It is not clear if this symptom affects people with Omicron in the same way. According to the study, the chances are that if you have the loss of appetite symptom, it will already be accompanied by another.
"A loss of appetite is rarely the only symptom someone has (3% in over 65s and 2% or less in under 65s)."
What should I do if I have a loss of appetite?

You should take a lateral flow test (LFT) if you think you have Covid symptoms or are generally feeling under the weather.
LFTs taken regularly are a good way of keeping on top of the virus as some people can be asymptomatic.
Data collected by the ZOE Covid Study indicated the most common symptoms of Omicron and was put together by Business Insider.
The five most common symptoms reported by people were:
- Runny nose - 73%
- Headache - 68%
- Fatigue - 64%
- Sneezing - 60%
- Sore throat - 60%
Other reports include a range of symptoms including a persistent cough, fever, chills and 'brain fog'.
It should be noted that the list does not distinguish between vaccinated or unvaccinated people and is based on only early data.
Also, a loss of appetite was not recorded in the top 14 symptoms on the list.
