Logging into Genshin Impact today, I figured that I would find not much else besides my usual four daily quests to do. But surprise, Albedo wants to talk to me, now that the Chalk Prince and the Dragon event has concluded.
This final quest is a mere conversation with Albedo, though it does come with some rewards. Albedo thanks you for your help, but the problem? He takes away more than he gives. He will actually sap the power from your Festering Desire sword, though will let you keep the base model.
This…is not great. What you are losing are the following bonuses that previously applied to Dragonspine before this, and yes, this was made clear from the start, but it’s still too bad, given how significant they were:
- 60% more damage to enemies in Dragonspine
- 35% crit rate to enemies in Dragonspine
- 35% slower freezing in the wild on Dragonspine
- 70% more crit damage to enemies in Dragonspine
- 50% more Scarlet Quartz damage when that item is picked up and used on Dragonspine
Meanwhile, you do get to keep the sword at whatever level you upgraded and refined it to, which at rank 5 is:
- Increases Elemental Skill Damage by 32% and Elemental Crit Chance by 12%
That’s still a pretty good sword, but no, it no longer has those insane bonuses to make it a terror on Dragonspine specifically, which I think is kind of a shame, and I don’t really understand why they bothered taking those away. There is still stuff to do in Dragonspine like weekly Crimson Wish encounters that the sword would have helped with, not that those are terribly hard. The toughest thing on the mountain was the final boss of the event, but he is now gone since the event is over. You can still spend your currency if you have any left over in the event store for another week, but you cannot earn any more.
There is also about a week left in Albedo’s banner until Ganyu arrives next week, which I know many people are saving for, as she’s a coveted 5 star cryo bow hero, and someone who has been in the game’s story for quite a while at this point. I’m personally holding out for Rosaria, who was involved in the Albedo quest before disappearing, but it’s not clear when she’s coming, probably not until Update 1.3, which may be late this month or early next month.
Anyway, go finish this quest if you want.
