BHOPAL: A strong spell of showers was witnessed in Bhopal after a humid day on Friday evening. There was drizzle in parts of the city during the day well, but it failed to check the day temperature that remained above the normal mark.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there is no system impacting the state, but formations over the Bay of Bengal would get another wet spell for the state from August 31 onwards for the next four to five days. However, there is moisture in the air and possibility of light rain persists for Bhopal and other places of the state till the fresh system hits, officials added. Day temperature in Bhopal on Friday was recorded at 31.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 22.5 degrees Celsius, which was at the normal mark. Wind direction in the city was south westerly while average wind speed was 15 kilometers per hour.
The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Bhopal 0.2 mm and Shajapur recorded trace of rain. In the forecast for Bhopal on Saturday the meteorological officials said, there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain in parts of the city. Day and night temperature in the city would be 30 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 16 kmph.
In the forecast for the state the meteorological officials issued warning of thunder and lightning for places including Shahdol and Rewa divisions and for Katni, Jabalpur and Narsinghpur districts.
