MUMBAI: Surendra Sanas will be the new chairman of the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC). In the managing committee elections held during the club’s 107th Annual General Meeting on Friday, the two former committee members, Geoffrey Nagpal and Milan Luthria, failed to get the members’ nod.
Ram Shroff will head the stewards’ body. Since Jaydev Mody and Shiven Surendranath have decided not to participate, Shyam Ruia and Jehangir Damania were co-opted for the nine-member stewards’ body.
There were no elections for the board of appeal.
