Sure tackling could help Jon Bostic keep his starting spot

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Jon Bostic before last season in hopes of replacing some of the production lost with Ryan Shazier. Now one season later and all anyone wants to talk about it how will the Steelers now replace Bostic.

Pittsburgh has already signed Mark Barron but this hasn’t slowed down any speculation the Steelers covet Devin Bush and would draft him if available. But if you plan to replace Bostic, his tackling isn’t the issue. According to Pro Football Focus, no inside linebacker had a higher tackling grade than Bostic. Bostic finished fourth on the team in tackles in 2018 with 73 combined tackles.

The problem with Bostic is he is basically a one-trick pony. As a run stuffer and tackler he’s excellent. But he doesn’t even bring the pass-rushing ability of Williams. The Steelers need coverage player who can also defend the run and not more run defenders who are questionable in coverage.
