SURAT: For the seventh consecutive day on Monday no deaths were reported due to Covid-19 in the city. On Monday, 34 fresh Covid cases were reported in the city while in Surat district 46 cases were reported.
One death of an 85-year-old woman from Takarma village in the district was reported on Monday. She was suffering from hypertension.
“The deaths have come under control as the hospitalization has dropped gradually. Patients with critical health conditions are not getting admitted now,” said a health official. The cases have dropped below 10 in eight out of nine wards in the city while 10 cases were reported from Rander. Cases have dropped to 7 in Athwa ward, which had reported the highest number of cases at the start of the third wave.
Meanwhile, in south Gujarat districts, 11 cases were reported in each Bharuch and Tapi district while six each in Valsad and Navsari.
No cases were recorded in the Dang district.
