Supreme has announced a new collaboration with Stone Island.
The Italian brand was founded by Massimo Osti in 1982 as a sportswear brand with a focus on practicality over aesthetics, but thanks to endorsement by Britpop brands - in particular the Oasis brothers - it took on a cult fashion following of its own.
Slipping out of favour for a decade, Stone Island has gained a second wave of popularity thanks to online vintage stores like Wavy Garms, where heritage outerwear brands such as North Face, Champion and Stone Island have gained incremental trendiness.
The new collection is a fresh take on practical pieces, with water and wind resistant jackets reimagined in post box Supreme red with a vinyl finish. Lightweight waterproof jackets are reupholstered in an aquamarine silk material and, of course, there’s an assortment of bucket hats.
The collection goes on sale in Supreme stores worldwide on March 14 and online on March 16.
