Supreme's collaborations are renowned for selling out in record time.
Since it launched in 1994, the streetwear giant has partnered with both high street and high end designers—from North Face to Louis Vuitton and Comme des Garcons—and the brand's latest collaborator is French haute couture designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
The fashion legend told Australian Vogue: “I have been including elements of sportswear in my collections from the very beginning. With Supreme, this inspiration will find its way to a new generation.”
He's not wrong. Supreme boasts 12.5 million followers on Instagram alone and elusive products from previous collaborations are regularly re-sold for at least twice their retail price.
The collection features both menswear and womenswear with Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon, as one of the models.
The casting is a fitting choice, as one of Gaultier's most iconic designs is the conical bra bodice worn by the singer on her Blond Ambition tour in 1990. Nearly thirty years on and her daughter is carrying on the Gaultier family connection.
As for the collab, it includes vintage print unisex co-ords in yellow, white and red with the words "F*** racism" printed on the side, a range of floral athleisure along with matching trainers and a range of accessories, including a contemporary leather holster harness, large 90s-inspired plaque belt and sunglasses.
