Supreme court considers filesharing fray

"The average American teenager seldom knows or cares what the US Supreme Court is up to," reports today's Financial Times, "But that could all change today when the justices meet to consider whether to step into the legal battle over music sharing on the internet."

"The justices will meet in private conference to decide whether to hear one of the most important intellectual property cases of the digital era: the Grokster case."

"It is rare for the Supreme Court to venture into complex intellectual property disputes, especially in the still largely untamed area of internet law."
