The Nominet Internet Awards celebrate the achievements and innovation of UK internet initiatives. They are open to any organisation or individual who is doing great work online, whether it benefits their business, the wider economy, local communities or the UK's internet users in general.
There are five categories, which are all sponsored by respected organisations that are keen to help find great work online.
Innovative internet business, supported by Innovation Warehouse

Innovation Warehouse will be sponsoring this category, open to businesses or commercial enterprises using the internet in new ways, traditionally-offline businesses that are using the internet to grow or change, and internet startups and entrepreneurs.
Online skills and training

Digitalskills.com, created by Go ON UK, is sponsoring the category for initiatives that: help people to learn new skills or knowledge using the internet; provide access to education or information using the internet; help users to improve their skills to make the most out of the internet; and tools or websites that empower people online.
Making the internet a safer place, supported by Cyber Streetwise

Cyber Streetwise is sponsoring the category on making the internet a safer place, aimed at initiatives combating criminal activity online, helping to improve online trust, championing online safety, developing security and safety tools online and providing safe data storage.
Doing good online, supported by NCVO

This category is sponsored by the NCVO and aims to recognise initiatives that are promoting charity fundraising online, using the internet to support volunteering or help for others, as well as online charitable initiatives and projects to raise awareness of good causes online.
Digital innovation in public services, supported by techUK

techUK is sponsoring the category for digital innovation in public services, which is seeking initiatives that help to save public money through innovative use of the internet, use the internet to support communities, help to promote digital democracy and political engagement, or use the internet to improve access to public bodies and information.
