ORLANDO, Fla. _ SpaceX sent 5,700 pounds of supplies and more than 250 science experiments to the International Space Station as part of the company's 19th resupply mission.
The liftoff, which was scrubbed Wednesday because of high winds, came at 12:29 p.m. local time Thursday from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's launch complex 40. Shortly after takeoff, the first stage booster successfully landed back on SpaceX's drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You" off the coast of Jacksonville.
Among the experiments going to the station is one from Budweiser looking to learn more about how to malt barley seeds in microgravity, part of a long-term plan to brew beer in space. The company has said it wants to be the first beer on Mars.
Also on board are some holiday gifts for the six-person ISS crew, but NASA wouldn't say exactly what Santa would be delivering.
SpaceX's Cargo Dragon is scheduled to arrive at the ISS on Sunday, where it will stay for about a month.
