SUPERVIVE ranked mode, explained

Theorycraft’s SUPERVIVE, a competitive title combining MOBA and battle royale genres, is built to have a ranked mode. Thankfully, it does, and for those looking to climb, there’s a dedicated ranked ladder and unique rewards.

Ranked mode in SUPERVIVE unlocks at Hunter’s Journey level 20. For a new account, you can expect to unlock it within 10 hours of gameplay. Like other games of its kind, SUPERVIVE‘s ranked system aims to give every player the challenge they deserve. The matchmaking system for ranked is quite complicated. After all, the game is a mix of multiple competitive genres.

Here’s everything you should know about the rank system in SUPERVIVE, including all ranks, what affects your rank, and what you should expect when jumping into your first ranked match.

All ranks in SUPERVIVE

SUPERVIVE‘s ranked ladder has eight ranks, and the layout is similar to other competitive titles. There are six ranks with four divisions each, the Grandmaster rank with uncapped ranked points (RP), and the Legend rank that consists of the top 100 Grandmaster players.

Here are all the ranks in SUPERVIVE:

  1. Bronze IV-I
  2. Silver IV-I
  3. Gold IV-I
  4. Platinum IV-I
  5. Diamond IV-I
  6. Master IV-I
  7. Grandmaster
  8. Legend (Top 100)

You start at Bronze IV, and you need 200 RP to climb each division. So, to reach Grandmaster, you need 4,800 RP. As you climb ranks, you’ll unlock rewards associated with each rank. Those include a glider and a border.

How to rank up in SUPERVIVE

Ranking up in SUPERVIVE depends on four factors: ante, placement, performance, and bonus. All those combined define how much RP you’ll get (or lose) at the end of the match.

Ante

The first factor affecting your ranked experience in SUPERVIVE is ante, a system where you pay some RP to participate in a ranked match, similar to Warzone or Apex Legends. It costs less RP to enter games at lower ranks than higher ranks.

Here’s the price breakdown:

Rank RP cost to enter a ranked match
Bronze 10
Silver 20
Gold 25
Platinum 25
Diamond 30
Master and above 35

At Grandmaster, the ante increases by one every 200 RP. Other factors that can boost your rank include placement, team kills, and bonuses, which reward RP to players based on their performance in ranked SUPERVIVE games.

Placement

If you manage to outlast all other teams and place first, you’ll be awarded the highest RP in the lobby. Similarly, you gain RP for placements up to tenth in the lobby, but you won’t be awarded any if you place ninth or tenth (in a lobby of 10 teams).

Here’s what the RP gains look like for all placements:

Placement RP awarded
First 40
Second 30
Third 25
Fourth 20
Fifth 15
Sixth 10
Seventh 10
Eighth 10
Ninth 5
10th 5
11th 0
12th 0

Performance

Like placements, the amount of RP you receive depends on the number of kills your team secures, too. Each team is worth 12 RP, with later kills being worth more. Killing teams that don’t have many deaths also awards more RP.

Bonus

The bonus RP gains depend on your performance and vary player by player. It’s a great way to evaluate your individual skill level compared to others in the lobby.

Two factors determine bonus RP in SUPERVIVE:

  1. You perform better than higher-ranked players in your lobby.
  2. Your skill is higher than your rank.

So, you and your teammates gain the same amount of RP depending on your team’s placement and kills, but also earn a bonus amount of RP depending on individual performances in every ranked match.

Overall, the ranked system we see in SUPERVIVE alpha seems very well-crafted and addresses multiple issues, like throwing and an ambiguous rank-up system that we usually see in competitive games of the same nature, like League or VALORANT.
