Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick broke down in tears as he spoke about the death of his beloved dog.
The Irish veterinary surgeon appeared on ITV's Lorraine with host Lorraine Kelly to chat about his new children's book.
Noel's book, Vetman and his Bionic Animal Clan, tells the story of a boy who becomes an animal hero.
But the 53-year-old was overcome with emotion when discussing the loss of his Border Terrier, Keira, earlier this year.

He admitted to Lorraine that he "wakes up crying every day" over his 14-year-old pet's death.
"How are you doing," Lorraine asked him as she broached the subject.
"I cry every time I see her," Noel said turning away from the screen which showed a picture of them together.
He explained her grave is outside the window at work, where he was this morning, and said: "I say goodbye to her whenever I leave and I say hello to her multiple times a day."
Noel has also said he has dedicated his new book, which is about unconditional love, to her.

"The truth is I couldn't cope," Noel later told the host as he recalled trying to train for the London Marathon while in the midst of his grief.
"I woke up every day crying and I'm treating other people's animals and I'm crying."
He was signed up for the marathon by a friend before the coronavirus pandemic but sprained his ankle before the race.
"I ran the marathon with a photo of her [Keira] in my pocket and a very interesting thing happened. When the physical pain met the emotional pain..." Noel said before struggling to speak.
"All of a sudden I was able to let her go."

Lorraine said: "I'm so sorry, I don't want you to get upset."
Viewers watching the interview at home also found themselves in tears.
"Noel Fitzpatrick has me in tears. All my love to him," tweeted one.
Another said: "Actually crying watching Noel Fitzpatrick on #Lorraine we lost our 13-year-old Layla 11 months ago and it never stops hurting."
Noel announced the heartbreaking news in September on social media with a picture of his ‘best friend'.
He wrote: "It is with profound sadness I share the news that Keira, my beloved companion of nearly 14 years, has passed away.

“My heart is truly broken. She was my best friend in the whole wide world.
“My friend Amy and her son Kyle are broken-hearted too since they have shared her guardianship with me all this time.
"To have had her in our lives, lighting the way with her magnificent unconditional love."
It has already been a difficult time as Noel previously revealed Keira had spent the last year recovering after she was hit by a van outside his veterinary practice in October last year.
He continued: "We were especially lucky to have been gifted magical further time with her when she nearly lost her life too soon a year ago.
"I am so thankful for your kind wishes and support at that difficult time and for the incredible love you have shown us.
"I know that she touched many lives with her light. With great love comes great pain, but her love will be inside me forever.
"She inspired everything I do for animals and her legacy will be eternal.”
He added: "I will pay full tribute to my little girl once we have had some time to grieve.
"Thank you my beautiful baby girl. I give you back to the starlight. You are forever by my side. I love you beyond what words can say."
