Superstar Ukranian-born pianist in concert at Crisp Galleries

It promises to be an incredible afternoon of music - Ukrainian-born international concert pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk performing in the picturesque surrounds of Crisp Galleries at Bowning, just outside Yass.

Gavrylyuk is in recital on Saturday, featuring works by Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Debussy and Liszt.

The proceeds of the concert will go to supporting five families in Ukraine in desperate financial need.

Alexander is Australia's highest profile concert pianist and the concert in support of his homeland is "very close to his heart".

The 37-year-old performer began his piano studies as a child, moving to Sydney at the age of 13.

Now an Australian citizen, he has played with orchestras around the world and in iconic concert halls. The concert at Bowning is his first in regional NSW.

The concert is 2.30pm to 4pm on Saturday. Tickets are available here
