Supernanny Jo Frost throws chicken nugget at mum in a row over what she's feeding kids

Anyone who's watched Supernanny Jo Frost in action knows she takes a no nonsense approach to parenting.

But when she's called in to help a couple resolve issues with their children's eating habits, her frustration appears to get the better of her as she throws a chicken nugget at the mum.

The incident stemmed from the children's reluctance to eat vegetables and other healthier foods - wanting to stick with their nuggets and 'normal' spaghetti.

But when Jo steps in to persuade couple Angela and Dom to serve up something more nutritious - which inevitably leads to complaints from the three children - rather than showing any enthusiasm towards the new menu, Angela sympathises with them about the food they're having to eat.

Chucking a nugget at Angela as her daughter cries and spits out the chicken she doesn't want to eat, Jo says: "That's pure behaviour. This is about if I make enough of a fuss, you might just go back to this. Am I making my point? This has all got to stop."

Speaking after the incident, Angela said: "I was getting upset and angry, especially when Jo threw a chicken nugget at me. I know it's junk, I know it's processed food and it's not good for them. It's just hard to see my kids cry, I just want to comfort them. It's tough."

The episode of Supernanny USA is from Season 8 of the programme, shown on E4.

Jo is outraged by the couple's soft approach towards the children, offering them an ice cream sandwich before bed when they've refuse to eat their meals.

Thousands of parents have reacted to a clip of the show shared on Facebook on Monday, with many of them saying children should just eat what they're given.

"I wouldn’t have eaten my dinner as a kid if I knew I would just get an ice cream sandwich instead," said one.

While another added: "Just put out the food, and that’s what’s for dinner. You don’t have to eat it, but you’re not getting a separate dinner made for you. If you don’t eat it, and get hungry later...there’s a bowl of fruit in the kitchen you can take from. Done."

However, some felt Jo had gone a step too far, with another parent adding: "I'm not sure about Jo throwing the chicken nugget at the Mum lol, she lost her rag a bit there didn't she? #practicewhatyoupreach."
