Supernanny Jo Frost disgusted by American parents spending £3,000 a month on takeaways

Supernanny Jo Frost is unable to hide her shock after an American family she stays with admits to spending £3,000 a month on takeaways.

The legendary children's expert is back Stateside to help struggling parents look after their kids and in the latest episode, Jo tries to guide dad Anthony Garcia and wife Bethanie.

Anthony stays at home to look after their three kids while Bethanie goes to work to earn money for the household.

But Jo is unimpressed when she hears about Anthony's habit of spending money on takeaways instead of cooking.

When their dinner arrives in the form of paper bags and aluminum containers, Bethanie admits: "We usually order almost every meal just because it’s harder to cook."

A stunned Jo asks: "Do you order out for lunch and dinner?"

"Majority," Anthony replies. "It's just very time consuming. It's just so much easier to go on the phone, order a meal.

Jo is left stunned by the excuses they give (Channel 4)

"I enjoy cooking but it's just about balancing time management, essentially."

Jo asks how much they spend on takeout food a year, to which Bethany replies: "About $3,000 or $4,000 a month."

The Supernanny star is shocked and says: "So, the price of a mortgage for an expensive house."

As they make a sound of agreement, Jo raises her eyebrows to the camera.

The couple's spend a year could come to a whopping total of £36,000.

"Let's face it, there's no reason why Anthony can't go shopping," Jo says frankly to camera, "and cook some healthy vegetables for the entire family. If he starts doing that he'll start to feel really good about his contribution as a whole as a stay at home dad."
