Supermarkets are already stocking Easter eggs and shoppers are not happy

Christmas is barely behind us, but shoppers are stunned to see that supermarkets have already begun to stock chocolate eggs for Easter.

Multiple supermarkets across the country - including Tesco and Asda - have begun to sell chocolate Easter eggs and packets of mini eggs well in advance of the actual holiday.

Budget store B&M has also launched brand new After Eight Mini Eggs last week, almost a full four months before Easter officially arrives on Sunday 17 April.

The new seasonal finds were shared to Instagram and Facebook group pages, and shoppers 'can't believe' how early these chocolate treats have hit stores.

One shopper shared a snap to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group with the caption: "New orange mini Easter eggs at tesco's £1."

The post has been liked 1.4 thousand times and received thousands of comments, with many shoppers baffled at how quick the Christmas decorations have been taking down.

"Saw the first easter choc 3 weeks ago…. Getting absolutely ridiculous…" commented one unimpressed shopper.

"Wow we've only just had Christmas" expressed a third shopper.

A fourth shopper commented: "Can screw off with damn Easter."

A fifth shopper commented: "Ffs and on to the next marketing opportunity. I will get New Year over first thanks. My Christmas tree is still up!"

Shoppers on the bargain Facebook group were not the only ones to be unimpressed with the new early chocolate treats, as snaps of new Easter eggs have already begun showing up on the NewFoodsUK Instagram page.

The social media account is dedicated to showcasing the newest treats found in UK stores and chocolate eggs have been dominating the feed lately.

Cadbury's Mini Mix Easter Eggs, Lindt Lindor Mini Eggs and new Cadbury's White Chocolate Oreo Eggs are among some of the new Easter Eggs that have arrived in stores lately.

In a recent post, the Instagram account shared that Tesco stores have began to sell a brand new Terry's Chocolate Orange Easter Egg and shoppers are less than impressed.

The post was captioned: "New Terry’s Chocolate Orange Easter Egg! The taste of the egg is perfection, classic Terrys taste which works perfectly with the creamy white chocolate! Now available at Tesco £3!"

One shopper simply wrote: "too early."

While another wrote: "so it begins."

A third shopper commented: "Easter eggs already!"
