Supermarket worker quits job by leaving boss 'brutal' note on her desk

Nearly all of us have fantasised about handing in their notice for a terrible job before dramatically walking out the door seconds later.

But sadly, a good reference halts many of us from actually doing it.

It's annoying to have to be so sensible, but who said adulthood was filled with fun.

That said, if you don't care about getting a good reference, or if you're so miserable that you are desperate to leave your boss in the lurch, you might enjoy this woman's chosen medium after she quit her job at American supermarket chain Target.

One woman made it clear to her boss why she's leaving that company - and it's not because she loved the job but got a better one.

She shared the note on Reddit after leaving it on her bosses desk - and lots of people were impressed.

At the top of the note, it ironically says: "I appreciate you for..." but it's doubtful her message had that impact.

It said: "Hey Jordan, Just wanted to let you know that I will not be returning to work tomorrow or next week!

"Thx hun! - M. P.S. I will never understand why you were so rude to me :)!"

The smiley face on the ends really makes the note *extra* painful.

Lots of people praised her decision to leave, with one Redditor commenting: "You will definitely be better off. Happy New year!"

Another joked: "Gimme the tea what did Jordan do."

A third person commented: "Good job. I don't know you but I'm proud of you."

But another warned: "Y’all may laugh and cheer on how to leave a job- but trust me, once you step foot out of retail and into a more professional career, you’ll see what we’re saying about burning bridges and about how to leave a job."

Another person agreed, replying: "I could never do this. I’d just feel way too guilty about the workload it created for the rest of my team."

Do you think this was the right way to quit? Let us know in the comments
