Supermarket shopper wears bizarre full-body plastic cube to avoid catching Covid

Supermarket shoppers have been left baffled by a woman who appeared to have taken Covid safety measures to extremes by donning a full-body plastic cube to browse the aisles.

The woman left nothing up to fate by also putting on a face mask and rubber gloves while inside the container.

She was filmed strolling down the aisles of the store by another shopper last month who captioned the video on TikTok: "Just another day in your local grocery store in 2021".

The clip went viral after eagle-eyed social media users spotted a QR code on the back of the cube and traced it to the Instagram account "aseptic_chamber".

The account user then confirmed it was her featured in the video, and appears to be selling similar items for other Covid-conscious shoppers.

The contraption appears to be made out of plastic with four wheels attached to its base railings to help the wearer move across the floor with ease.

One Instagram photo featuring the woman posing inside the cube had a caption reading: "Aseptic Chamber II (Bubble Bro) GET IT NOW ONLY $199.99." It is unclear whether the posts are satirical or genuine.

The viral clip has since divided viewers, with some ridiculing the woman and others defending her for simply wanting to feel safe.

"I see no problem here. As long as she's masked up," they said.

"She's not hurting anyone and we don't know her situation. Let's be kinder to each other."
