As we approach the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, many supermarkets all across the country have announced they will be adjusting their hours.
The bank holiday period for the Jubilee will start on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3. While the spring bank holiday is usually held on the final Monday of May it was pushed back to allow for the celebration of 70 years since the Queen took the throne.
While stores are not obliged to close or reduce times for the bank holiday, they will likely enforce reduced hours. It is more likely that you will see large supermarkets reduce their hours while smaller stores, such as Tesco Express, leaving their hours as usual.
