He wages a never-ending fight for truth, justice and the American way.
But Superman swapped the city of Metropolis for the soaring skylines of London as he was spotted hovering above The Shard.
A figurine of the Man of Steel has been suspended 1,000ft (300m) above the ground within the exposed spire of the capital's tallest skyscraper.
Created to celebrate the release of DC Studios’ Superman, the one-day installation marks the highest-ever public sculpture display in the UK.
Londoners have also been urged to “Look Up” — the slogan of the Hollywood blockbuster – to spot the last son of Krypton.

The statue, scanned from Superman actor David Corenswet, stands at 11ft (3.5m) tall and weighs 120kg (18st).
It was crafted from fibreglass moulded in Eco Resin and secured by metal cables attaching it to The Shard.
The sculpture took around four months to make, with a team of 20 people dedicating a combined total of 2,000 hours.
James Gunn, the director of Superman and co-chairman of DC Studios, said: "To see such a realistic depiction of our Superman displayed on the top of The Shard is mind-blowing.

"Bringing one of cinema's greatest heroes to life for the new film has been the adventure of a lifetime. This will take some beating, London."
Daniel Fulbrook, head of marketing for Real Estate Management and asset manager at The Shard, added: "Superman has stood as a symbol of hope and heroism for generations.
“So it feels only fitting that he now watches over London from the top of one of its most iconic landmarks.”
Meanwhile, Mr Corenswet, as well as co-stars Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) and Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), made an appearance on The Shard’s highest platform beneath the sculpture.
Superman airs in UK cinemas on Friday, July 11.
