Superhero search team on lookout for missing Cork woman as dogs, drones and Gardai deployed

Brave volunteers were still searching for a woman missing from Fermoy, Co Cork today.

The woman is believed to have gone missing on Thursday and a massive effort to locate her is underway.

The joint search operation saw Cork Civil Defence utilise drones to help search the area as Gardai, Irish Search Dogs and other Civil Defence groups teamed up to hunt down the lady who has been missing since Thursday.

Cork Civil Defence said: “Volunteers are en route to Fermoy again this morning, at the request of @gardainfo, to provide a drone team to support the search for a missing person.”

In a Facebook post, Irish Search Dogs said: “We have returned to the ongoing search in the Fermoy area of North Cork.

“We have three dog teams currently on the ground searching.

“Also in attendance are An Garda Siochana, Mallow Search and Rescue, Cork North Civil Defence, Tipperary Civil Defence, Cork West Civil Defence, Blackwater Sub Aqua search and Rescue, West Cork Underwater Search and Rescue, Cork City Missing Persons Search and Recovery and several other voluntary dive teams.

“May we bring the missing person home today. Stay safe everyone.”
