Superhero sculptures mark a century of cinema in Leicester Square

Superhero sculptures of Wonder Woman and Batman are being unveiled in Leicester Square as part of a celebration of a century of cinema.

Eight bronze figures representing different periods in film history will be put in place next month with potentially more to come after a six-month trial period.

Wonder Woman, who is again being played by Gal Gadot in a new film out this year, will be seen bursting through a wall into the square.

Film fans will have to look up to see the figure of Batman keeping watch from a rooftop.

Scenes in the Square will arrive in Leicester Square in late February 2020
