Superdrug reveals beauty best sellers and how you can get your next shop free

We’ve been stuck inside for what feels like an eternity but actually, it’s only been eight weeks. As a result of being in the house more than ever, we’ve become pretty self-sufficient when it comes to at-home personal care and grooming. Since salons shut their doors, Superdrug has everything we've need to make sure we look our best during and once lockdown is over.

They’ve seen a surge in online purchases with a +55% growth on last year at Superdrug.com. Customers are reaching for DIY beauty products from haircare to nail care in an attempt to recreate at-home treatments. We guess there’s only so much baking we can do.

The health and beauty retailer has reported their best sellers in the beauty section as a result of beauty salons, hairdressers and nail bars closing due to new government rules and preventing coronavirus spreading further.

It just goes to show that despite having minimal contact with one another, looking and feeling our best is still an important part of our daily lifestyles.

From pampering face masks to DIY hair dye, here are the best-selling categories and products you can try if you fancy giving it a go at home.

Best of all, with TopCashback right now, you can get £15 cashback off your first purchase. So when you add some sheet-masks, hair dye and a nail polish, you’ll practically pay anything thanks to TopCashback.

Any purchase made over £15 including delivery will receive £15 cashback into your account.

All you need to do is sign up to TopCashback and follow the links to Superdrug. Sadly this offer is only available to new customers.

Hair:

Seeing as salon visits are currently on hold (boo), Superdrug is ‘hair’ to the rescue. They’ve seen a huge uplift in haircare, a 76% uplift in fact. As for at home hair dye, there’s been a 27% increase in sales - us included.

Sales of root touch up products are driving the growth, with all five bestsellers in the hair dye category being root touch up products.

Hide your greys and grow-up with the Superdrug Root Cover Up Colour Spray, now priced at £4.99 and available in a variety of colours.

Want something a little longer-lasting? Then opt for Superdrug's Performance Root Cover Up, priced at £3.69.

For those of us who are feeling brave and more experimental with vibrant hair dye products, Schwarzkopf LIVE Ultra Brights Blue Hair Dye, priced at £5.79, have seen sales go up by 141% and Bleach London Rose Dye up 90%, priced at £8.50.

Want to make sure you get every inch of hair when home dyeing, tinting brush, priced at £1.99 and mixing bowl at £3.19, are also available at Superdrug online.

For those of us who are really serious when it comes to maintaining our hair, Superdrug sell Hairdressers Scissors, and saw a whopping 683% increase in sales versus last year - no surprise there as I don’t think most of us females are quite ready to brave the shave, yet.

You can get yours for £4.99.

Nails:

And it’s not just the hair dressers we’ve been missing but nail salon too - with many of us attempting an at-home mani, it’s no surprise artificial nails have had the biggest growth.

We love the Superdrug Finishing Touches Fake Nails Extra Short Pink, £4.99, as they're super natural looking with a little extra length.

Nail care is a close second and nail essentials third. With applying artificial nails, you want to make sure that you’re still caring for your nail underneath so essentials such as gel nail removal wraps, nail files and strengthening treatments have all seen an uplift. The Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Strengthener, priced at £5.99, has seen an 135% increase. And trust us, it’s worth the hype.

Skincare:

Is it just us or are we now taking the time to actually look at our skin in more detail more than ever? We’ve become obsessed with skincare and self-care. For us, Superdrug’s Charcoal Peel Off Face Mask, Dead Sea Purifying Clay Face Mask and Superfruits Exfoliating Face Mask are our top pick’s. All priced at 99p, they’re a steal.

Top to toe skincare has also been introduce into our day and night regime. Our skin has been feeling drier than so to combat that, we’ve been buying a vitamin-rich skincare heroes like the Superdrug own brand Vitamin C Facial Booster, £4.99, and Vitamin E All Over Body Cream, £3.99.
