Supercomputer predicts Rangers Europa League glory run as Steven Gerrard's side leapfrog Milan

Rangers' form domestically has had the fabled Supercomputer on the verge of discombobulation for months now.

And former Ibrox skipper Barry Ferguson rightly points out the current team are able to fully concentrate on an extended run in the tournament.

The Premiership title is almost among their grasp and this season's Scottish Cup is no sure thing with Scottish league below the Championship still shut down.

Rangers are serious contenders and Nate Silver's website makes them the seventh most likely team to make the semi-finals out of the 16 teams remaining - the only teams ahead of them are among the biggest on the continent.

And the probability Rangers win the tournament is 3 per cent but that number could quickly change if a big hitter like Manchester United or Arsenal exit in the next round.
