Supercomputer predicts Premier League table with bad news for Chelsea and Arsenal

We are into the business end of the Premier League standings and there is still plenty to be decided at both ends of the table.

Liverpool retook top-spot on Friday evening by fighting back from behind to beat Southampton, taking advantage of Manchester City’s lack of Premier League involvement due to their FA Cup endeavours, but Pep Guardiola’s side still have a game in hand.

Manchester United hit with summer transfer blow, former Manchester City favourite could return to England - Premier League rumours

The title race looks extremely difficult to call but FootballWebPages have done exactly that - and they believe City will retain their title by beating Liverpool by a single point, finishing on a whopping 98 points.

Beneath them, the fight for a top-four finish and the Champions League football that comes with it is extremely tight but it is Tottenham Hotspur who are tipped to finish third, four points ahead of Manchester United.

That means Arsenal, tipped to finish behind the Red Devils on goal difference, will have to settle for a Europa League spot and the same is the case for Chelsea, who are calculated to finish a further point behind the Red Devils.

West Bromwich Albion receive managerial blow, Leeds United agree fee for new signing - Championship rumours

Watford could join them in the Europa League, as the Hornets are tipped to finish five points ahead of Wolves to seal seventh place - which may result in continental qualification, depending on who wins the FA Cup.

At the bottom, Huddersfield Town and Fulham have already seen their fate sealed and it is Cardiff who are expected to join them in the Championship next season, finishing ten points adrift of Newcastle United - who are expected to secure just three points from their final five fixtures.
