Supercomputer predicts new final Premier League table that Chelsea fans will love

Things are looking very good for Chelsea at the moment, with the Blues looking a serious threat under Frank Lampard.

Thursday night’s win over Manchester City not only handed Liverpool the Premier title, but further boosted the Blues hopes of finishing in the top four.

Chelsea restored their five-point gap on fifth-placed Manchester United, and look well set to secure Champions League football for next season.

Not only that, but with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner set to arrive at Stamford Bridge very soon, and the likes of Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell being linked with moves, Lampard’s side are being tipped to pose a threat to Jurgen Klopp’s runaway leaders next season.

The focus for now though will be on making sure they secure Champions League football for next season, and the Blues have even been tipped to not only secure a top-four finish but leapfrog Leicester City into third.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have long looked safe in their position behind Liverpool and Manchester City, but having not yet won since the Premier League’s return, and with Chelsea hitting the ground running, the Blues are the new favourites to finish third.

According to FiveThirtyEight’s latest predictions, Chelsea are set to finish a point ahead of Leicester this season, with Lampard’s side expected to take 67 points to the Foxes’ 66.

Both sides have been tipped to have their qualification for the Champions League wrapped up, with the Blues given a 93 per cent chance of securing their place at Europe’s top table, with Leicester given a 91 per cent chance.

As for Chelsea's London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur are predicted to finish seventh and four points behind Wolves, but Jose Mourinho's side have been tipped to finish four points ahead of Arsenal in eighth.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have been predicted to finish just a couple of points further back in fifth on 64 points, and have been given a 79 per cent chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

City are still facing a two-year ban from Europe, which could mean fifth will be enough to secure a place in next year’s competition, although they have appealed against UEFA’s decision.
