Manchester United are favourites to win the Europa League this season and a supercomputer has now predicted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to go all the way.

United have been handed games against FC Astana, Partizan Belgrade, AZ Alkmaar in their group stages.

And data boffins at FiveThirtyEight have assessed United's chances of winning the trophy at 8 per cent ahead of any of their rivals.

United have a 77 per cent likelihood of winning their group, a 94 per cent likelihood of reaching the knock-out stages and an 43 per cent chance of appearing in the quarter-finals.

Their chances of reaching the last four are 26 per cent, while they are 15 per cent likely to reach the final in Istanbul - where the supercomputer predicts they will face FC Porto.

The Portuguese side are given a 6 per cent chance of winning the competition ahead of Seville and Arsenal at 5 per cent.
