Supercomputer predicts final Premier League table - and Crystal Palace fans won't like the outcome

There have been a lot of changes at Crystal Palace since the end of the 2020/21 season.

There's a new manager in charge, new players on the pitch and a renewed optimism surrounding the club and their ambitions of breaking into the top half of the Premier League.

So far that has translated into some improved performances from the Eagles, who are sat 14th in the table heading out of the international break with seven points from seven games.

Five of those matches have been against clubs playing European football this season, with Palace losing away at Chelsea and Liverpool but beating Spurs 3-0 and earning hard-fought draws against West Ham and Leicester City.

Patrick Vieira has stressed in recent weeks the importance for the Eagles to turn more of their good performances into victories, which will, in turn, help them climb the table and achieve their goals.

Palace supporters will be hoping that the club can improve on their 14th-placed finish from last season, but according to one simulation, it'll be another bottom half showing come May.

FootballWebPages and their supercomputer have the club finishing 14th for the third season running, collecting a total of 42 points to finish between Arsenal (13th) and Watford (15th).

The table also has Norwich City, Southampton and Burnely all to go down, while Chelsea are in the top spot as champions on 99 points.

Introduction of safe standing, the effects of Newcastle's takeover, the world cup in Qatar - have your say on football's biggest issues in the survey below.

According to the table, Palace will only collect a single more point on the road this system following their draw at the London Stadium in September, with the supercomputer predicting they will lose 17 and draw two games away from home all season.

The majority of their points then will come at Selhurst Park, where Palace will only taste defeat once throughout the campaign, winning 11 and drawing seven of their other matches in south London.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are put down as runners-up behind the Blues, with Manchester City and Brentford making up the rest of the top four.
