Supercomputer predicts Championship results with bad news for Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Norwich City

Another Championship season draws to a close this weekend after what has been a rollercoaster ride across the division.

The automatic promotion positions have been decided, with Norwich City and Sheffield United earning a spot in the Premier League next season, while at the bottom of the table the division is set to wave goodbye to Ipswich Town, Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham United.

Bristol City interested in signing international defender also wanted by Celtic and Fulham

Play-off football beckons for Leeds United, West Brom and Aston Villa but the final spot is still up for grabs, with Derby County currently holding the advantage over Middlesbrough and Bristol City.

Tony Pulis’ side and the Robins will hope the picture changes for them on the Championship’s final day on Sunday but a supercomputer developed by the University of Reading has bad news for the pair.

Their predictions for the weekend’s matches sees Derby secure a victory over West Brom, which means that the results for Middlesbrough and Bristol City are redundant - although the Teesside outfit are tipped to win.

Remarkably, it also expects Sheffield United to beat Norwich City to the title on goal difference as the Canaries are tipped to lose against Aston Villa, while the Blades emerge victorious in their trip to Stoke City.
