Supercomputer predicts 2019/20 Champions League winner ahead of group stage draw featuring Man City and Liverpool FC

The group stage draw for the 2019/20 Champions League is just around the corner with Manchester City eagerly waiting to find out their opponents.

Pep Guardiola will be desperate for an improvement on last season's performance after the Citizens crashed out at the quarter-finals stage to the hands of Tottenham.

The Spaniard has lifted the trophy twice as the manager of the Barcelona but it has been the one major honour that he hasn't secured during his time in England.

According to a prediction from a supercomputer, he could be set for more disappointment.

BT Sport's The Script has predicted who will be crowned champions of Europe ahead of the group stage draw which takes place on Thursday.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool will all successfully navigate the group stage, with Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham becoming the only English side not to reach the knockout stages.

However, City will not progress much further after being drawn against record-winners Real Madrid in the round of 16. In a contest full of goals, the prediction believes that the Citizens will lost to the Spanish giants 7-5 over two legs, meaning another season of disappointment in Europe.

Chelsea and Liverpool will both progress to the quarter-finals before losing to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Madrid will come out on top during the El Clasico semi-final match up to set up a date with Guardiola's former club Bayern Munich in the final.

The hotly contested game will end with Madrid winning the competition yet again, meaning Zinedine Zidane will have never not won the Champions League during his time as a manager.

Although City were unable to lift the trophy, the prediction suggests that Sergio Aguero will overtake former Chelsea star Didier Drogba to become the top-scorer for English clubs in the competition.
