Supercomputer makes Nottingham Forest Premier League prediction

A football supercomputer has predicted Nottingham Forest will avoid the drop as the Premier League relegation battle heats up.

The computer, which ran 500 simulations of the remaining Premier League fixtures based on results so far, has given every team a percentage probability to win the title, finish in the top two, qualify for the Champions League or to be relegated.

With a 33 per cent chance of relegation, the supercomputer has predicted Forest will just about have enough to stay up, as the fourth-most likely team to finish in the bottom three.

Southampton, Everton and Bournemouth are the three sides predicted to go down, with the Saints at 45 per cent, ahead of the Toffees on 43 per cent and the Cherries on 41 per cent.

Sunday's 1-0 victory over Leeds will have certainly helped Forest as this season’s relegation battle looks set to be one of the closest in years.

Among the other struggling teams, Wolves are also flirting with the bottom three, as the supercomputer gives them a 22 per cent chance of relegation.

West Ham, Leeds and Crystal Palace are all expected to struggle, but the simulation predicts each will have enough to stay clear of trouble, as the Hammers only have a 19 per cent chance of going down, while Palace and Leeds each have 18 per cent.
