Supercomputer makes new Premier League prediction and it’s good news for Arsenal and Manchester City

A supercomputer has calculated an updated prediction of how the Premier League will look at the end of the season.

Leading data analyst Nate Silver, founder of the website, was listed as one of the world’s 100 most influential people after correctly foreseeing the outcomes of two US elections.

Now, he has produced a final data model of the 2018/2019 Premier League.

Starting at the top of the table, it’s great news for Manchester City supporters, as they eventually run out as winners - with FiveThirtyEight predicting a 97 point finish and a 73% chance of winning the league overall.

Liverpool are set to fall just short - ending the campaign on 96 points during one of the most competitive title races in history.

Further down the table, Spurs are set to qualify for the Champions League - finishing in third and attaining a 97% chance to remain in the top four along with rivals Arsenal in fourth.

Chelsea miss out by the finest of margins, finishing behind Arsenal in fifth by a single point - with Manchester United allegedly finishing a place below them, not even, as it stands, good enough for a Europa League spot.

Here is the final Premier League table in full:
