Supercomputer issues Rangers 56 title endorsement as Celtic written off ahead of derby day

Champions Rangers will retain their Premiership crown this season despite Celtic's impressive early season form.

That's according to the supercomputer at bettingexpert.com ahead of the Glasgow rivals’ first face off of the new season.

The algorithim has put Steven Gerrard 's side in top sport again despite a drop off from their unbeaten league campaign.

Despite a slip-up against Dundee United at Tannadice ending the unblemished run, the Ibrox side have enjoyed wins over Ross County and Livingston so far this season.

Across the city, Ange Postecoglou got off to a rocky start against Hearts in a 2-1 league opener defeat, but has since ensured back-to-back 6-0 victories over St Mirren and Dundee.

However, that has not been enough to change the minds of the boffins at the bookmakers.

There is good news for Aberdeen who are tipped to finish as the best of the rest under Stephen Glass, with Hibs, Hearts and St Johnstone predicted to make up the top six.

Ross County are the unlucky side who have been backed by the algorithm to finish in the automatic relegation spot.

A bettingexpert.com spokesperson said: “Rangers may not be invincible once again this season, but they are still set to be champions of Scotland for another year.

“Our supercomputer has them ahead of a Celtic side that may be improved from last term but could struggle to close the gap at the top.

“Ross County are the side that comes out bottom of the pile in this forecast, so they will be looking to prove their doubters wrong.”

Sunday's clash at Ibrox will be a huge indicator on the progress of Celtic and the chances of the trophy being taken back to Parkhead.

The predicted league table

  1. Rangers
  2. Celtic
  3. Aberdeen
  4. Hibs
  5. Hearts
  6. St Johnstone
  7. Motherwell
  8. Dundee United
  9. Livingston
  10. St Mirren
  11. Dundee
  12. Ross County
