Supercars stun motorists as they all turn up at M6 services

Supercar fans were in heaven as a fleet of high performance vehicles were spotted at an M6 service station - before driving off together to meet even more supercars at a special event.

A host of premium motors, including an orange Lotus, adapted Nissan GTRs and Audis, Porsche and Lamborghini stopped off at Knutsford Services on the M6 on Sunday morning before joining more motors further along at the Lymm services.

The fleet of supercars certainly turned heads among people stopping off to grab a coffee and a toilet break at the Moto services.

The car owners were all heading to the launch of Assetti Performance motors in Ellesmere Port - the new supercar business from Boyzone star Shane Lynch.

It opened with a huge Supercar Sunday event where hundreds of high performance vehicle owners and car fans gathered.

Among those meeting up at Knutsford services on Sunday morning was Lotus owner Wayne Goodman, 38, from Bury.

Wayne, who works in IT, said: "The supercar community can sometimes get a bad rep, but you couldn't meet a nicer group of people.

"We all have the same interests and it's nice to be able to see what other people have done to adapt their cars.

"When I was a kid it was my dream to be involved in something like this, I used to get Max Power magazine and be into all that.

"So now that I've got my own car, why not share it with other people if you can?"

The cars moved off together from the services, close to J19 on the M6, before heading along the M56 to Ellesmere Port.

There, they all headed to Assetti Performance, where Shane has opened the new supercar centre which specialises in performance and aftermarket parts at Cheshire Oaks.

Shane is known for his love of supercars, as well as his love for Cheshire since moving here last year with wife Sheena.

The couple have also opened their own Irish bar in Knutsford, D13, with business partner and stunt driver Nathan Gerhold.

Shane said at the time of the move to Cheshire: "Sheena and I were moving up north because I’d just had enough of the south, all the hustle and bustle, I'd been 20 years down there really.

"So we said before our oldest daughter starts high school let’s take the big jump and we moved on out.

“A lot of my work and business was up here, and driving up and down was mad anyway and two of my sisters live on the Wirral so it seemed like the ideal place - and we have absolutely loved it.”

Cheshire has become the northern capital for supercars, with a large supercar owner and spotter community based around the wealthy village of Alderley Edge.

The village has become known as the "Knightsbridge of the north" due to the high volume of motors worth millions and millions of pounds regularly roaring along the high street.
