Two supercars have been pulled over on Welsh roads after they were spotted driving around without number plates.
Police in an area of Powys spotted the two highly expensive motors on Sunday, September 20.
A blue Lamborghini Huracan was stopped on the A40 between Brecon and Sennybridge, and shortly afterwards an orange McLaren 720 S was pulled over in Brecon itself.
There is no suggestion that the cars were speeding, but neither were displaying front number plates - something which is required by law in the UK.
According to the UK Government, “number plates (also known as licence plates) must show your registration number correctly”, and people “could be fined up to £1,000 and if they drive with incorrectly displayed number plates”.
There are also rules about how registration numbers are displayed on cars.
The font must be a certain height and size, and it must black in colour on white background. Vehicles without front number plates would also automatically fail an MOT test.
According to an online search, the Lamborghini stopped on Sunday would set you back at least £160,000 from new, while the McLaren would cost a cool £215,000.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the drivers of both supercars were reported for not displaying front number plates and issued with fixed penalties, although they did not specify the cost of those penalties.
Back in July, a Porsche and a Ferrari were stopped near Brecon for having no front number plates. On that occasion, the drivers told police that the numbers plates had fallen off.
