Superbowl in Swansea reopens after sudden closure and it's free to visit for the next two days

A bowling alley in Swansea is now open again following a sudden closure.

On Monday, February 3 a padlock and notice appeared on the door of Superbowl in York Street.

At the time, Superbowl UK said that the Swansea site was not open due to "circumstances beyond our control". The statement left customers confused as to whether or not the bowling alley would reopen.

However, Superbowl has confirmed that the site is now open again.

Although it hasn't given the reasons behind the sudden closure, the company has confirmed that it's "back for good" and will be free to use from noon on Wednesday, February 5 to 3pm on Thursday, February 6 .

A spokesman for Superbowl UK Swansea said: "Sorry for any inconvenience caused the last 2 days... But good news, we will be reopening today from 12pm & we’re back for GOOD.

"To celebrate the return of Superbowl UK Swansea we’re giving all of you FREE Bowling, Ninja Tag Active & Crazy Club Soft Play from 12pm today until 3pm on Thursday 6th February.

"We can’t wait to see you! (T&C’s apply, free games cannot be pre booked, maximum of 1 FREE game per person per day, first come first serve basis)."

Superbowl on York Street launched in 2018. It is the second bowling venue in the city centre after the long-running Tenpin at Parc Tawe.

The entertainment site includes a state-of-the-art 14-lane alley, as well as a soft play area, a 'ninja tag' assault course and a SEGA Prize Zone amusement arcade area.

It is situated in the City Gates complex, in the 25,500 sq ft unit last occupied by Aspers Casino back in 2012.

Superbowl UK already has sites in Cardiff, Newport and Merthyr.
