Superbike World Champion Jonathan Rea has motorbikes stolen from home

Co Antrim Superbike Word Champion Jonathan Rea has had motorbikes stolen from his home by thieves.

This included his training bikes and one that is used by his young son.

Jonathan put out a social media appeal following the incident saying: "Last night thieves broke into my garden shed and stole my training bikes and kids bike along with garden equipment!

"Please help me to get these bikes back!"

The post has been shared thousands of times, as the people of Northern Ireland tried to help the world champion get his belongings back.

Jonathan also said that he has been overwhelmed with the massive support he has received since he revealed that the bikes were stolen.

He went on: "We are overwhelmed by all the support we’ve received in connection with the bikes and equipment that was stolen from our property last night.

"Thank you so much for all the kind words. The matter is now in the hands of the PSNI."
