A super-talented nurse has lifted spirits by performing a special coronavirus -themed song online.
Anne-Marie Cossar penned the ditty to the tune of Gerry Cinnamon’s festival anthem ‘Belter’.
The mum-of-two posted a video on Facebook of her singing the song in the kitchen of her Dumfries home.
The deputy charge nurse in the Dumfries and Galloway critical care unit, belts out the catchy tune wearing her blue scrubs and playing the guitar.
The 33-year-old has been shocked by the response to the two-minute clip that has already been shared more than 1000 times and generated nearly 300 comments.
She said: “It’s pretty full-on at the moment at work with lots of added pressure so I’m really enjoying playing the guitar and singing.
“I’ve been amazed at how the song has taken off online. It was my first go at it and I hadn’t even practiced.

“I sang something similar at a work's do a few weeks ago where we raised money for a brain tumour charity."
Introducing the song on Facebook, Anne-Marie who lives with husband Bryce and her daughter, Faryl, 3, and six-year-old son, Thomas, wrote: “As I sit at home with the kids on my days off - I have had time to reflect.
“I am truly grateful and proud to be part of the NHS, and I’m savouring this time with my babies while I’m not at work.
“We’re not quite sure what’s ahead of us. But I do know we will get though this.
“I’ve updated my wee song- this was meant to be the practice but the kids are wanting to make cakes so this version will have to do!!”
The song has already received huge praise online for its uplifting lyrics including: “We’re going to pull together to kick Corona’s a**e out the door” and “as the world is standing still and we look upon this mess, it’s time to care about each other, about ourselves a little less.”
